It's a relief to know that Commander Dwight and General Brenton are on top of things, because it sure seems like hell's minions have been released upon the earth. I can personally vouch for what General Brenton was saying about those large groups of Afflicted "exhibiting signs of increasing intelligence and strategic maneuvers." What an understatement! Our base was practically cut off from Sydney, and our main source of supplies, by an army of at least 500 Afflicted that marched in towards the city from Melbourne to the south and Brisbane to the east. It was almost as though the two groups could communicate with each other without equipment over long distances, because they converged upon Sydney and blocked all major exits from the city. They growl, and make the most godawful gutteral noises, but it's hard to tell whether they're actually talking.
We were able to sneak past them and get all of our people out of Sydney, but it was really close. The Afflicted are definitely planning something …… they split off into smaller groups to enter the buildings and cut off the power. Mr. Kutu said in his post that the Afflicted were clearing out large sections of the Congo jungle. What the hell are they up to?
